I am having problems determining which users are currently logged into my Domain. I know you can tell who's using which open file or session and who is sharing a certain file/folder, but for my company, I need to check and see who is currently logged in. Any suggestions where 2k Server would display this information. There were other threads close to this, but nothing I could find that was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks,

Depending on how big your organization is, you can use a scanner, like Languard. You would have to run multiple scans for different subnets though. But it will show you all your machines and who is currently logged on to them.. I don't know of a built in Windows way- though there probably is one- sorry...

Thanks,

i have norton corporate - it lists who is logged in and on which pc

Thanks, yeah I wish I knew if Windows had something like that built in. My organization is made up of about 130 workstations and around 300 some users. I've been using this ShareWatch program to monitor my connections coming in for files/shares accessed and it refreshes itself every 5 seconds, but doesn't display any sort of way of telling about the current user logins. And I know I could check the log files, but users log in and out almost non stop and that isn't quite "real-time" like I'm wishing it was. I will try that Languard out though and see if that would work for my situation.

I am also using Norton corporate, but only have a few licenses (25) for our important workstations/servers that need them. I too noticed that Norton is a nice way of showing who's logged in to which workstation. Thanks.

Try to find and install NT 4.0 resource kit, it has a program called Net watch, this will allow you to add a server name, and see all the shares, and files being used by any resources, by a computer or user, we have it installed on our 2000 servers and use it to determine who is still logged in and who is not when we plan down time, it makes it easy to know who to kick off the network on planned down time.We got it when we had NT 4.0 servers and still have kept the program.

Thanks everyone, the "net session" command will due just fine. It's exactly what I needed, nothing more, nothing less. I must have been thinking too hard about it or something. uhhhhh, those long days at work. :) I appreciate all of your help.
