Hi All
When I perfrom a who I see a user logged since May 21
#who
mipbase pts/18 21 May 10:55

#ps -ef | grep pts

Shows no process running for pts/18 thus cannot kill of user port connect it seems to be a corrupt login with no associated processes. Any way of getting rid of this user without having to reboot the server and killing off all mipbase users

Sounds like you have a ghost entry in /etc/utmp. Just zero out /etc/utmp.

Bill.

or just login and logout as mipbase Mike
