I have a DMS100 conected to M1 with 8 PRI's. Currently for some reason the M1 is setup as Network and my DMS100 is user. When i set them up i make the DMS100 the Network and the PBX the user. My question is does it matter which one is User or Network and would it affect CLID being displayed correctly on my DMS100 SMDR.

The general rule is the larger switch should be the network and the smaller switch should be the user. If you control both switches it does not matter. The CLID information is controlled by the RCAP prompt and responses on the D-Channel in the Meridian 1.

As above, however, as long as the M1s clocking source (SSCK...) is stable it should be OK.

If the DMS is infact a public switch, it would be better to have them as the master.

Just a question, I always thought that the M1 systems had to be the USR side, except when in specific intances of switch type (SL1 comes to mind) when you could set the DCH to be NET on one M1 side.

okay, thanks guys, thats pretty much what i thought. Just wanted to bounce that off other techs.
