Who Manufactured my NVIDIA MX400?

I don't know who manufactured my video card. SiSoft Sandra states NVIDIA as the manufacturer as does the initial boot up message.

There is no FCC number although the FCC's logo is printed on the card.

The retail box refers only to NVIDIA.

I've been using the NVIDIA detanator drivers which work fine for WinXP but not for Win98 (crashes during windows boot-up).

The Win98 driver provided on CD works fine for some games but not others.

Can anyone help?

Although they are both named Detonator XP the 98 and XP drivers are differant you want the 23.11 drivers for 95/98/98SE/98ME.
As regards who made your card, well at a guess it is probably a reference designed board from someone like SPARKLE. A no frill basic design that gives you The Nvidia chip without the extra enhancements. Martin.
The Detonator driver powers everything from a Riva TNT2 to the G/force 3 Ti500. so it should cover your card. Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

Yep, I was using the correct Detonator driver. I downloaded The XP driver and the 98 driver. Both versions 23.11

Maybe I'll just have to re-install Win98 and see if that works.

Nvidia is very bad. I'll never buy thier product again. I had the same problem as you and spent well over six months trying to find a solution. don't bother looking for customer support at nvidia, they don't reply to email at all!

Yep, I know - I've had no reply from NVIDIA either despite numerous requests for help.

I'm sure that at least 50% of the price I paid for my card went to them, so their refusal to assist is a disgrace.
