I am saving a file in eps format from a mac for use on a pc. Not normally a problem, I retro save the file out as illustrator 7 and include a black and white tif as a preview. How ever my eps is a white only logo and quark seems to want to ignore the white area of the image.

Anybody have a work around for this?

B&W TIFF previews don't save transparency info so it will always have a white block around it unfortunately. You could use a different color for placing it and revert to white when you're happy with it. Alternatively, try saving with a Mac preview. I'm not sure if PC Quark will preview this correctly, but it's worth a try!

Another thing you could try, if you have Photoshop, is to import your Illustrator paths into PS and define a clipping path using a white document. The clipping path should give you all the benefits of vector art, even if it's actually a bitmap.
