Which way to go? 1

Hi,

I just found a job as a database designer, mainly Access stuffs. Could anyone tell me which Microsoft certification I should try to get?

Well...

What do you want to do in the future? Work with databases? What type of database? Do you want to get into Oracle or stick with Access? Do you want to work with Access and SQL Server?

If you want to stick with the Microsoft Databases you can do a MCDBA, or, I think there are some "certs" based on Access, but that might be the MS Office cert.

Where you want to go should help you know what you need to learn today. CJ

Affirming what CJ said, if you have the job, find out what makes your boss tick. It may be that he/she don't want you to get MS cert--they may have someting better...

Or it may be the boss was waiting for you to ask and then offer some complete package...

First get in good with the boss, second finger out where you want to be in 10 or 20 years, third draw the path, fourth (if it's on the path) get the certification...
