Which tapes to remove?

Hi,

Can someone please help with a procedure for removing my weekly tapes from an autoloader?

My problem is BE9.1 is spanning the weekly full backup over more than one tape, and I can't tell which tapes to remove to put in to storage.

Also, once I remove the tapes, can I replace them with new tapes? should these go in to scratch media and will the be automatically used when required?

You would have to open the job log and click the FIND button and search for "Media Label". This will tell you the labels and then you can export them. There may be a report in the reports tab you can run. But if you know its using let say 2 tape regularly then it may be easier to go into the devices tab and partition the library and setup a partition with 2 slots. Point the weekly job to the 2 slot partition and then you will always know whict slots to pull the tapes from
