I thought that any multiple line, digital phone with a headset could be used with Zip Tones. ARe the 8434DX phones compatible as well?

all phones that have headset capability and have Auto Answer on the station and Agent forms to enable the feature.

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

headset capabilty" meaning capable of having a headset button. The 1st non-callmaster this started with was the 64xx series phones. You cannot program a headset button on a 84xx series phone, therefore you cannot have auto-ans / zip tones via ACD.

We got it to work on the 8434DX. We are on a CM5.2 platform. User has her headset at the ready, which is plugged in to a Plantronics amplifier, and she has the headset out of the cradle. She uses Manual-In instead of Auto-in, not as a consequence, but as a managerial preference.

She logs in, touches Manual-In, and lets the call appearance go dark. She never touches the hookflash (switchhook) and all navigating is done with appearance buttons or Aux buttons. Zip is heard, and the call comes in over the headset.
