Want to known what ksu's with what software will do CLID on a ringing line to all phones, not just One designated phone.

Is there a software version for 8x24 DS that will do that?
How about MICS.

Thanks, Jeff

forget it on the 8x24. I think 6.0 had that option as well, but I'm pretty sure not on 5.0

Hi there
We have and old system mics r1t1 with a startalk C

Is there a way to get cid on this system??

Thanks for the help!

that may be a bit beyond me.

plain unit no extras it seems. analog line are on the punch down, 3 lines in with 9 extensions and a startalk model C

Hey Marv

Thanks for the info!

I will assume that CI Line cards are a board that need to be placed in the main KSU?

One other Item if I may if we change the software to an older version of XC 2.0 will that make a difference and will I need to change the voicemail C to a later model ??
( We need to add companion)
Thanks for the help

oooooooooooohhhhhh did you say companion?? - Buyer beware! the sets are hard to come by and no longer manufactured - I ve seen alot of unhappy customers lately- the Spectralink cordless system is quickly replacing them. and I may be wrong but i thought there was a module called an M8 that was wired ahead of the systemm to give 8 x 24 caller id capabilities?

Thanks guys

kinda short story... old KSU had the companion system. New manager wanted changes after remodel. No password for system changes {or thats the story} local exchanged old ksu for "new" ksu r1t1 had VM Model C on premise but bad drive. Have on site 3 3040 handsets, 1 rpi 8, 5 repeaters.
The ballroom areas are surrounded by 16 inch brick walls on 3 sides and let out to a foyer with same on exterior { building is 114 year old masonic temple.}
but the r1t1 won't do companion. I guess the other ksu had xc software from what I understand. We were told we needed to change the software and the simplest way was to change the software to XC. 2.0 something will cost the least amount of problems since it seems to plug in and up you go.
That True Guys? or should I just get the other wireless ?

Any advice ???

Nortelinva... You need xc software to run companion. Changing from r1t1 to xc 2.0 will require a full defaulting and reprogramming. Look at Spectralink.

Thanks telemarv !
Nice site BTW

I am guessing that there are some circuits on our system somewhere between the floors that are loose. The problem is that our voice mail will sometime lock the display out, "Total Blank" on our phone that is trying to get into voice mail. it will normally clear within a few seconds. I checked to see if when that happens the VM will still pick up calls and it does.

The phones don't reboot just go blank. any clue?

Strange thing I just noticed. If I unplug the phone and let it reboot? Everythings fine. They are m7310. anyone had this happen?

This is old software (even older voice mail) and pretty whacky sometimes. If I recall Startalk C did not report a busy state like newer voice mails. I suspect the voice mail is busy when your attempt to access gives you a blank screen.

Sounds like you have a relatively large organization. It's time to upgrade software, voicemail and give a serious look at spectralink for your cordless needs.
