Technology take over?
hmm, that would contradict the meaning of technology
technology is the science of making our lives easier, faster, and what not, unfortunatly a computer is either a big toy, or a the creep next door whose getting the promotion(hehe doubt it), look at it this way, as fast as the computer can work for us, and the more a computer need programming, working and so on, a computer still cant pick itself up, and go sit on the toilet on its own, point is, there is no computer, and probally wont be in a long time, that can actually think on its own to the point where it will never need a human interaction. Used to be people thought computers would reduce to the job force to very low, and put people out of a job, others thought that it takes somethign away from you when a machien does it for you, dont know about the secnod one, but the first one, well lets just say there is a huge demand for people in those certain feilds. Right now computers to me are mainly enertainment, i mean at home my computer is my expensive toy, where the fun doesnt stop upgrading(unless you had a 486/25 SX computer for a while) Its funny how i've had friends that thought a computer completely thinks on its own, well it computes, it doesnt actually think, having a predefined set of rules, well there would be too many for them to actually think , and too many for computers to actually understand, computers are like a babyboom of the past decade(s) they'll all like kids, only difference the newer ones always seem to know more, and have abilities than the old ones (can you imagine throwing you granddad in the dumpster "sorry grandpa, yer too obsolete to work with"

We can become dependant on our own creations, and it's dependant on us as well, if computers had an inteligence to think on its own, should be programed with the knowledge, that we are dependant on machines now for survival, and the machines are dependant on us, for a purpose, a task. You think thats creepy, my brother been reading up on the human genome project, they're 70% done, when they are done, they'll be able to clone a human, without any biological donors. anyways, i said my peace hehe. good luck hehe.
Karl
kb244@bellsouth.net
<a href=
