that someone mentioned with 1000MB webspace for $7 in the month. I know it was mentioned in a topic when someone asked for a hosting.

due to a big screw up at my current hosting I think it's faster to move my backups to a new one instead of waiting until they have fixed everything :( :( :( :(

Well, PowWeb ( has 1,000 MB 5 gig of transfer per day and I have been using it for the last year. I would say their 99.7% uptime is pretty accurate. 7.77 a month.

See my progress to converting to linux.

this weekend my website was unavailable, their explanation was that hackers have screwed up and erased all websites on a certain computer. it's now tuesday and I still can't do anything :)

has anyone experienced similar problems perhaps ??

Sounds to me like your HSP has played it fast and loose with security. And now they've been bitten on the butt.

Even if they had brought the site back up immediately, I'd have thought long and hard about switching providers.

I still didn't get any reaction out of them since this morning (here in holland it's evening now) still no sign of a backup or emails that are restored :(
and I still can't restore a backup of my own into the mysql database :(

ps has anybody here got the same experiences with ???

I'm a powweb.com and hostsave.com and addr.com user. I am most content with powweb.

The big challenge is transferring your domain name. If your downed hosting company is also responsible for domain registration, you may have a pickle trying to get them to point the domain to a new host. The transfer of a domain requires a volley of emails to authenticate that you are the true owner of the domain. A downed host cannot send these emails to you and the new host.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

wheeeee unbelievable, it seems that they don't have a backup whatsoever :( :( :(

unbelievable that a webhosting that big has no backups

I will try to register with powweb tonight ;)

you pays your money and takes your choice !!.
I'm in UK and often think of a USA company, the deals do seem so much better

trust but verify is an nice quote. I remember that. so I've put something on my powweb account. how do I delete the entire server over there or do I have to go to the hackers section for that ???

but if I delete them through ftp I don't think the hosting provider will put a backup in place ;)

and on my old account everything is still gone so not much to delete over there
