I don't know if this is the right forum for this but its the closest I can see. I'd like to find out where Webshots saves downloaded photos ( so I can restore them in case I have to format ). I've tried searching the entire computer for *.wbz without any luck.

Try looking at the Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp file under Documents and Settings\username\application data\microsoft\internet explorer.

Usually when you pick a picture from the internet and set it as a background that is where the file is saved, maybe Webshots does the same thing. This file is overwritten every time you pick a new picture however.

See this, you can't access them to copy them if that is what you are looking to do.

Matt J.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Thanks mattjurado, I found directory named "Collctions" in the Webshots directory that contains a set of ".wbc" files that probably contain the .wbz files. I will backup them up and see whether they work on restoration next format.
