I have an older version of Oracle 8.1.6 running on HPUX (64-bit) I am migrating from my old server to a new one. I have done a complete Oracle install, but there is no choice to include Pro*COBOL. My old installation installed procob & procob18 in $ORACLE_HOME/bin Oracle no longer supports 8.1.6 and won't even talk to me. I've seached all of my documentation and can't find anything on where to install from. Can anybody help????

Pro*Cobol is a separate product and will likely need a new version for your new server. Contact Oracle or your acct rep.

Pro*COBOL could be part of either the client or server solutions or both. Pro*COBOL is a precompiler. If you are doing your COBOL program compilations on the PC, then it is a client software. If you are doing your compiles on a server, then the client and server are in the same box (the server).

Sorry, seems my resonse was misleading.
It's ages ago since I installed 8 last time (and it was 8.1.7 then), but I remember one of the first questions after you inserted the first server-CD was what software you wish to install: "Server", "Client", or some third selection.
When you select "Client" you'll find Pro*Compilers.
