I have just recently bought a new Hard drive. I formatted it, put win2k on it, and am trying to get outlook back to normal. I found the address book, so thats back. What I'm looking for is my messages, history of e-mails, e-mail accounts, newsgroups, filters, and the sub-folders under INBOX. I KNOW that this info is somewhere, but where?? I have the old HD and new HD, and can browse them at the same time. the older harddrive still has ALL the win2k installation files on it.

Any help?

There are in Documents and settings. Look under the login name (If you login as Administrator look in there). If you are logging into a Domain the user folder will have the computer name after it as well EI.. jcollins.BUTCH. Where BUTCH is my computer name. Here is an example:
no Domain:
C:\Documents and Settings\jcollins\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{D93C8C03-C557-468C-BEF6-3D7EC71C06EF}\Microsoft\Outlook Express]

In a Domain:
C:\Documents and Settings\jcollins.BUTCH\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{D93C8C03-C557-468C-BEF6-3D7EC71C06EF}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Hope this helps.

This is where I found the old address book:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

This is as far as I get looking under identities:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Identities\{776DE3EC-5A2C-4BEB-8776-0725AB08EC49}
TY for replying.
Any more ideas?

becouse I installed win2k two times on the same HD, I have C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator and C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.natescomputer
I also have C:\winnt and C:\winnt2

Both are complete installations. The one I'm doing now is on E:\winnt

Check both Folders for the info you seek. You are looking for .dbx files. You can also do a Search for all dbx files . Start Menu>Search>Files & Folders. Type *.dbx and look on the original drive for the files. Once you have found them copy them from the search windows to a folder on the desktop. Then tell MS outlook where to find them. James Collins

This is what I was looking for! THANK YOU!

Strange, I can access the /02c8488gc8r83}/microsoft file from the search, but not from windows explorer. :( This is what you call a REALLY hidden folder.

P.S. did you ever get your NG's working? I can't see them, just the folder and the old mail.

NG? I am not sure what you mean. James Collins
