Where does Access create lock files?

I have a multi-user Access program with the data residing on the server and the programs on the users PC. Access seems to create lock files on the user's PC. Is this correct?

NOt unless it has changed recently. The lock files are created where the data files (Tables) are.

I presume that since I have local and remote tables, that I will end up with two files: one at each location.
