where can we get dongles?

Hi guys,

I recently get a grimse of an ad about dongle plugged into
the USB port and its cheap (~$30-40) but I was never able
to locate the ad again. Does anybody has any idea where
I might be able to get them?

The couple of dongles I've come across have been intelligent feed-through attachments to the printer port. They are intended to stop unauthorised use of a program.

The program addresses the dongle periodically and expects a specific response on one of the auxillary wires of the port - normal operation of the printer is unaffected.

If it gets no response it assumes there is no dongle and the prog shuts down.

As far as I know, you cannot have a *universal* dongle - it would defeat the object.
