Where are the reg keys for hibernation and power settings

I'm trying to write a script to disable hibernation and to change the power settings to disable standby in Win XP.

I'm using AutoIt to GUI script the process but have found that this is not 100% reliable as different systems react in different ways. I want to mod the registry directly which works 100% of the time.

I can't seem to find the reg key where these values are stored.

Any ideas?

TIA

To put your computer on standby or hibernation, you must have a computer that is set up by the manufacturer to support this option.

See what is available with Powercfg, I'm not sure myself whether you can do much with it and Standy having never tried it. This first link also points to Kelly Theriot's site where you might find a script for Standby that possibly you can use with Task Scheduler, again I'm not sure if it is of any use, but it might be worth looking at.

How to use Powercfg.exe in Windows Server 2003

Registry location to check.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

Hibernation relies on having access to the Hiberfil.sys file.
