In Word you can go "insert" "symbol" where is that in Quark, for instance to insert bullets or the degree symbol

where are the bullets in QuarkXpress 5.0 beta?

Word does its own idiosyncratic thing; in Quark you usually pick up bullets from the font you are in (on the Mac, at least, its usually option 8). Or from Symbol or Zapf Dingbats, if you want something special.
