I don't understand I guess..

When does one need to use a ds0-group rather than a pri-group when it comes to T1/PRI's on a router, any router. (1751 in my case)

I've read what I could from Cisco and even went back to the CCNA books looking for the straight up answer, but I guess I don't get it.

Anyone care to explain?? I'd really appreciate it.

This is for a PRI

!
isdn switch-type primary-ni
!
controller T1 0/0/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
pri-group timeslots 1-24 <---- NOTE YOU STILL USE 24CH

IF FRACTIONAL IT WOULD BE LIKE THIS
pri-group timeslots 1-12,24
!
interface Serial0/0/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
!
!

DSO group would be for standard T1 using all or part of
24 channels.....

Cisco CVOICE book will explain this further!!!!!

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
