I've read everything I found here, about oracle vs. access,
but I'm confused, and would like to focus on my problem (wouldn't we all?), so I can follow.
Please help:

I have access db, which holds 1700 records, in the main table.
The db is searched by users that enter our site and run queries.(the server is in win nt platform. I use asp+vbscript).
Only 2 persons r updating the database.
The db is not big, but if many users run queries in the same time, does it effect anything?
I read that it is, but I don't understand how come,
and what amount of ppl can effect it?
The kind of queries I let users do, are retrieving the
list by the first letter of the record, or by subject, or by searching any string in the list, and of course retrieving the whole 1700 records.
One other thing: when retrieving the whole list it takes 15 secs to to it. I wonder why, and if it would take the same time if i used oracle.
Is there any good reason to replace it all with oracle, (which I know nothing about)?
Thanks very much

Well unless you are tied to Oracle I would look at Microsoft SQL server since you have NT server already its a natural choice and a lot cheaper.

DougP,
Ok thanks, I didn't think of it so it's a good point. but...
I'm not tied to anything but access. :)
The question is if I need to switch from access to a more powerfull db than access, at all, according to what I mentiond,
or is it fine to stay with MY access.
If I should move on then...generally, what do I need in order to
switch it?Can I still use asp pages, vbscript?
What software do I need and what programming chages shell I make...?

Thanks very much for you help.
