hi
I would be pleased if you could help me.
the problem is as follows
when I receive phone calls the phone rings twice goes silent and when I pick it up there is a high pitched sound coming out of the phone and computer. if I disconnect the cable joining the phone line to the computer I can carry on with the conversation as the high pitch sound stop on the phone but NOT ON THE COMPUTER it carrys on for about one minute more.
I thought it might me caused by my fax set up so I have completely uninstalled all my fax software.
I thought it might be caused by the cable so I changed that as well.
I cant say for definite but it think the problem only started since I installed windows ME.
I really don't want to uninstall windows ME only to prove this knowing how iffy windows ME can be
my modem is using Rockwell driver 5634r
thank you in advance
