When Does Microsoft Stop Supporting 2000???

Since there still offering some type of support, although it's limited until next year, and it's been around 7 years, I still don't see them dropping support for w2k at all personally. From what little I know about .NET, and it is limited, it seems to me it's really going to be for a different application, like Windows 2000 server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Just my 2 cents worth.

Microsoft has said that they will no longer we shipping Win2k OEM's after April 2003. This means that you wont be able to get it from Gateway, Dell, and their ilk. But as .net server is still in Beta for another month, who knows how long til it becomes the standard, as Win2k is barely standard now. Microsoft tends to think that the world upgrades faster than they do.

Windows 2000 will be our final Microsoft operating system. Additionally, office 2000 will be our final office suite. We have plans in the works for an open solution.

Same here, w2k the last os we'll use. Dell and those guys may not ship 2000, but I can still go to office max and buy windows 98 if I want. If it gets to a point I can only buy xp on a new machine, f-disk will be the first order of business. Glen A. Johnson
