dial by name directory? I know there is a wildcard or something I just don't remember what it is any help is appreciated. TIA

Use an asterik... *SMITH,JOHN

The ~ is creating a problem with R11

Thanks,
Chris

I mean in the Audix name directory not the PBX directory. I think what you are suggesting is the fix for the PBX directory. I have tried #, *, Neither helped.

I actually did mean the Intuity. The R11 was a reference to what will happen if you do the same on both Intuity and Definity when entering a name.

If you use Dial-By-Name or Names-Directory in Audix, unless you've put the *,#,~, etc... on the Auto-attendant page, you should not be able to reach it. I've tested and confirmed it works.

If this is what you're trying to do, it should work.

Thanks,
Chris

What you suggest does work it does not however remove there name from the choices. I was able to completely remove the name announcement by placing a 0 in front of name i.e. 0lastname, First. It was a concern to even have these peoples names announced in the directory. A *, #, ~ do not remove the actual name announcement which was my goal.

This was a g3rv10 and an Intuity map100
