Hi folks,

recently I found some kind of standard (?) filesystem on one of our machines (and only on that machine ...)

/dev/fwdump

I've never seen this before ?
What's it good for ?

System ist AIX 5.2 ML6

Thanks in advance !

Regards
Thomas

What's the acual filesystem as in df -k

Googling for it seems to indicate it's for platform dump files.

It says

/var/adm/ras/platform ...

But what could have caused this filesystem to suddenly appear ?

Could it be there's problem on the machine ?
How do we find out ? Diag says everything's ok ...

Regards
Thomas

Take a look at the man page for platform_dump, perhaps you created the FS yourself without knowing it, by doing a dumpcheck?
