I maintain a website for a local non-profit organisation. In my case "maintain" is a rather loose term as basically all I do is bung on a few new photos and stick the latest results on the website! [bigsmile] This is about at the limit of my (lack of) expertise. [pc1]

I have been asked if it's possible for the website to have a "diary" that can be easily updated individually by three or four committee members. [ponder]

Is this possible? How could it be achieved? At the present time, if something needs altering, I download a copy of the relevant page, alter it as best I can with Dreamweaver MX2004, then upload it.

Suggestions appreciated...

Well it can be done, but you'll need some programming to get it done.

You can pick a server-side language, and program a sort of input that would take whatever these 3 or 4 people want to update and then save it to either a database or a file and present back in the webpage.

You could also use a pre-designed blog app on your webpage. Googling for "Blog Scripts", might help you out. Then you just add it to your website as per instructions and your off and running.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Thanks for that vacunita - I'll investigate...
