What would prevent outbound connections from XP Pro ? I can't net use, or TS to a Windows 2000 server I have from 1 XP pro client, but I can from another w/o issues.....what gives?

all 3 computers are in the "WORKGROUP" workgroup, and are all on the same subnet.

The XP pro client with the issue has Net Firewall installed for a work VPN, but it has the same behavior with Net Firewall disabled as well.

What strange security thing might be in place for this behavior?

Also, I can ping the server by Server name/IP address with no issues.....but I can't ping the XP pro client from the 2000 Server.

I do not have any 3rd party firewall software installed....

Some virus scanners have a hidden firewall included.

Look for "hidden" firewalls in antivirus software. PC-Illan for one is famouse for this result. You can modify its behavior.

I'm using Norton 7.61 cooperate edition....I can net use/TS to clients at work, just not when I'm at home.....strange behavior.....

I also can't connect to a network printer share either...
