Thanks in advance! I am considering buying an ATI 64MB DDR VIVO card so that I can combine video capture capabilities with "decent" game performance. Granted, I know that I'm not going to get awesome gaming performance, but I'm more concerned with video capture.

Does anyone know if this card is worth $150. That's the cheapest I could find it on Pricewatch. Also, I was considering going with the ASUS V7700 64MB Geforce2 Ti Deluxe. This card has similar capabilites but of course with much better gaming performance. It is almost $40 more. I've also heard it's video capture ability isn't as good as the ATI card.

I don't want to spend more than $200 and would prefer to stay around $150 if possible - since I'm going to get a GeForce4 in the near future for my other pc.

Any suggestions?? Thanks again...

I puchased a VisionteK Xstasy Geforce2 GTS-V (32 MB DDR) AGP PRO (OEM) video-out only card at for $50.00. This card has been doing great with my Asus TUSL2-C PIII/Celeron motherboard and a boxed 1.2Gig Celeron. My son was able to play Emperor, Sequal to Dune 2000 and win the game. Emperor is a pretty intense 3D Game. I was surprised at how fast it runs. I also played the SSI Moon Project game. Both worked out fine and they never caused the system to crash. Thanks ceh4702 for your input. I would definitely go your route if I wasn't concerned about video capture. ;-)

I was looking around the house and noticed I had an old Mpeg capture device called IOGTCHA. It just plugged into a vcr at one end and a mouse port or something like that at the other end. I don't remember their web address but they still had drivers for Win98.

I don't know what video capture cards cost, but It may be better to buy a video capture card separately or with one of those cameras as a package. Several companies probably sell video capture equipment. You would probably get free software and editing tools with a good video capture card. I don't think good video capture can be done with a video card; however, I may be totally wrong.

Try some multimedia sites if you want to look around. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.
