Hello

I going to implement a Linux Server what you recomment between Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES and Suse Server

hello thedaver

As of now it will be a file server for 10 Mac clients (big files)

Hardware nothing fancy P4 3.0Ghz ,3GB Memory ,SCSI Hard Drives with SCSI Sony Tape

How would the MAC clients talk to the file server? NFS? Samba? It doesn't really matter I guess.

Either of your initial choices is fine. Debian is fine and free (though more challenging for initial setup).

It sounds like you should get a picture of the support available to you from the vendors you've preselected and get comfortable with price/value of that offering. BE SURE to understand for how and for how-long your software updates are available from each vendor.
