I rarely get stumped on Avaya questions but I'm lost on this one. I am being asked by a CTI vendor what type of Avaya switch I have. I currently have an S8700 CM 2.1. But the type listed below, I do not know. Obviously it's not the last option but not sure about the others. Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks.

• Avaya Communication Manager (AES/ASAI)
Select this option if your Avaya communications system includes ACM, AES
and DLG, and uses the ASAI protocol to communicate with the CTC server.
See Section 1.4.1 for details of these switch options. For details of the
information you need to configure a link, see to Table 3–10.

• Avaya Communication Manager (AES/TSAPI)
Select this option if your Avaya communication system includes ACM and
AES, and uses TSAPI to communicate with the CTC server. See Section 1.4.1
for details of these switch options. For details of the information you need to
configure a link, refer to Table 3–11.

• Avaya DEFINITY/Prologix
This switch uses the ASAI protocol. For details of the information you need to
configure a link, see Table 3–10.

• Avaya INDeX
The Avaya INDeX switch uses CSTA as the protocol to communicate with the
switch. For details of the information you need to configure a link, see
Table 3–9.

• Avaya IP Office
The Avaya IP Office uses TAPI to communicate with the CTC server. For
details of the information you need to configure a link, see Table 3–12.

You have an Avaya Communications Manager 2.1. If your system has a MAP-D installed (TN801), you would probably be using LAN Gateway. You can verify what ASAI features are enabled by doing 'display system customer-options'. The ASAI features are in a few places:

ASAI Link Core Capabilities? y (basic) - Page 3
ASAI Link Plus Capabilities? y (enhanced routing) - Page 3

Page 9:
ASAI ENHANCED FEATURES

CTI Stations? n
Increased Adjunct Route Capacity? n
Phantom Calls? y

Thanks for the info Kevin. We do not have a TN801 board installed and our ASAI options are both set to "n". Guess this takes away option 1?
