All,

We've always bought new Nortel products in the past - for the Nortel warranty, but...

I see that Avaya advertises an Avaya 3904 to replace the M3904 on their web site.

But what about line cards and such? Will the line cards have a new Avaya product number? Are they still supported?

If you are buying from Avaya, then for sure I would be asking them. They are the ones selling them.

Personally, unless I just bought my system less than a year ago, I would never buy new hardware. The market is flooded. You can buy four used and perfect peices of hardware for half the price of one new peice. Who needs a warranty if you have three spares.

Good point GH.

In the past it was always about the possibility of violating an upgrade warranty. May have to get away from that line of thinking...

line cards are cheap, they have never voided any maint I had. I bought them from PB exchange for years, 75-100 bucks, prolly way cheaper now.
