can anyone tell me the approximate ratio for original data size to backed up data size ??
example-- if i back up 15 GB of all type files, about how big will the back up file be ???
thanks in advance
danny

An impossible question to answer! It totally depends on the backup software you are using, the level of compression you request from that software, but most importantly it depends on the kind of data you are backing up.

For example image files, particularly .jpg files won't and can't be compressed much - around 1%, whereas say, word documents can typically be compressed by more than 50%.
