What resources does Windows XP use for dialup using a modem? I am trying to identify what .exe or .dll files an application would need to use so that I can make a custom rule in Threatfire to control which processes have access.

Have you got a firewall that you could use to find out what process are trying to access the Internet and use that to block and notify you so that you could make a list?

Does an old (95 + 98) MSKB help you to fathom out some of the files involved.

If you run Process Explorer (a free utility from

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx)

it will show you what new processes (and dependencies) are started when you begin a dial-up session.
