what model switch to use?

Buy a good quality switch, as it will be much better in long run. Check out CDW.com and look at 3com, Cisco, Intel, HP and such companies (if for a growing buisness.) Or, if this would be for smaller like home-office; try Linksys, Netgear and those less expensive options.
