I have been an avid user of MySQL for several years specifically on IBM's AIX 4.2.1 OS. Recently we started migrating some of our apps over to Lnux 2.4x kernel ON THE SAME hardware and the same data. The very strange thing is that apps that took literally 15 minutes to process on the previous OS (AIX) are now taking 8-1 HOURS under Linux. These are 128MB PowerPC 233Mhz with 9GB SCSI drives... very respectable machines.
I thought that before I doug deeply into the forums and MySQL books that I have I would post this query. There has GOT to be something simple that I am missing. Oh yeah, the apps are written in perl running version 5.6.1 and the Linux is SuSE Version 7.3 PPC.
Any pointers, suggestions, etc. very much appreciated.
