Asked a questions about types of telcom systems.
1. PBX O.K. I know what that type is along with a Key system but what is a 1FL?
Is a 1FL some type Nortel or other manufacturer Brand? Thanks any help to clear this would be great.

What did you get this off of? We have FBL (flat business lines).

A 1FL is a Bell Canada term for a loop start business line.

I know. I got the question from PC LAN/WAN guy. who is now trying to get PBX info from other location in the Company. I pretty much will agree with you about the Flat Buissness lines. It may had been a typo.
1. PBX is Private buissness exchange? At my location we have Nortel.
2. Key system is? At another location. And is listed as being a Toshiba or Harris system
3. FBL Flat buissness line. Is also at another location, and it is not listed by any type.

I thought I answered your question. What are you now asking for?

A key system is a smaller non-PBX system. Maybe up to 150 users on a larger scaleable system. They are administered through the phone most of the time. A whole different type of beast than a PBX (Private Branch Exchange). You can however, network multiple key systems, or PBX with key systems.

The flat business line is similar to the phone line you have at home, only you have to dial a 9 to complete a call.

Bell Canada's 1FL is just a POTS line for business. No Centrex based 9 to dial.

Thanks for your response as usual you really helped out a bunch.
