Hi all, i cant seem to find out what the final step is after running the ADMT v3.

I am trying to migrate from NT4 to 2003, i have setup the trusts, migrated the accounts but my big question is What do I have to do to all the clients?

Do i remove them from the old domain and add them to the new?
Do i just tell the users to select the new domain from the drop down box in the "log on to" option?

Any help is appreciated, I've been reading for days now without answers. (everyone talks about an upgrade but very few on a migration)

Thanks

have your users select the new domain and log into it. Verify users can access the new domain and its resources OK. Wait a week or more to get through all of the daily, weekly (even monthly) routine reports etc. When you are sure users can access everything they need, remove the trusts between domains.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thanks for the reply markdmac,

If I remove the trust then wont the clients only have the option to log on to the old domain unless i manually remove them from it and join them to the new one?

Thanks

No, take a look at the membership on the machines after doing the ADMT migration. The workstations should show membership in the new domain.

I hope you find this post helpful.
