I have a linux server I want to back up, but i am not sure if I use the cmagent or the uagent? This is for ArcServe 11.

The cmagent (common agent) is used with ARCserve for Linux (ie tape hardware is connected to Linux platform), there is no need for this agent when using ARCcserve for Windows.

regards

According to a pdf I found from CA Arcserve that for Linux and MAC-OSX you install both the Common Agent (cmagent) and the Unix Agent (uagent).
