We received a "hand me down" Dell Dimension Computer. It was inundated with viruses and spyware so I formatted the disk and installed Win98SE. I keep getting a plug and play notification that it has detected a "PCI Communication Device". I don't know what that is but I imagine something to do with networking. Anyway, since I don't know what it is, I can't find the drivers for it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Either open the box up and look for make/model numbers on the PCI card, or search Dell's website for your model. You may find driver downloads if the model is not too old.

Be aware that several modems need to have the install programs installed before the modem is physically put in place. So you may need to pull it for a while.
This just to warn you if you run up against an install problem that seems to be unfixable.
