I am told that this is used for d channels to terminate on but it seems that my pri cards are taking up 2 channels each despite that card having a d channel or not. I am currently using an old pbx g3siv6 and I am using the tn765 cards that allows for 8 physical processors to be used. I am maxed since each pri takes 2 processors for some reason. What card do I need to get more physical processors? if it is another tn765 where would that card go - in slot. I put it in a purple slot and it shorted the whole pbx so of course I am very hesitant now. Does anyone know what card I need or if that pbx can only handle 1 card and a max of 8 processor interface? Thanks for all the help guys.

OK. The pri only need two processor channels if you are using primary and secondary d-channels. For a typical 23Bearer channel and 1Data channel circuit, you only need to use 1 Processor Interface channel. Let us know what the exact configuration of the circuit(s) is/are.

if you are using MCC cabinet you can up to 8 PI channel when have second TN765card , SCC cabinet only support to 4. Except pri , CMS ,AUDIX also use PI channel to work.

Hope to help you

I am using a MCC. The way I have configured right now is that each PRI belongs to a trunk group and so i am needing a d-channel for each. I will try to stick 2 pris into 1 trunk group so that I can have 1 card whith 24b channels. I will eventually need a 3rd trunk group however and will eventually run out of processor interface channels. I bought an extra tn765 card. Is this the right card that i need to expand and which slot does it go in. Last time I inserted it into a purple slot it shorted the pbx. Thanks!

do not put TN765 card to purple slot , because this is a part of control circuit. Your cabinet must have two slot labeled processor interface .
Have you enable second processor interface use command "ch system maintence " may be on second page , I forgoted.

hi wilsontec - i have another slot but it's called intn processor or something like that i can't remember exactly but i do not have an exact slot like the one that the tn765 is in.

i have 3 pri and audix set up so i am maxed right now. When setting up a pri do i need to configure it as a procr-int in the add data-module command or can i somehow set this to something else and bypass it...just wonder if there is any other way around this or if i am stuck and totally maxed out here. Any ideas?

thanks.
