alright people. here's the predicament...

i have a yamaha cd-r/rw 3200e-vx drive. installed, windows 98 automatically recognized it, and is okay with everything.

i have loaded roxio's easy cd creator 5 platinum edition, and it says that there are no cd recording devices.

i checked the yamaha website and it says that the minimum processor type should be at least a pentium 2 at 300mhz. i have a pentium 2 at 233mhz.

i was wondering if this would really make the difference of working or not. i wouldn't imagine so, i would think it was a safety spec that yamaha used.

just wanting some opinions. i have found many things to try to troubleshoot, but i'm at work right now, so i have to wait til the nite.

thanks everyone!
peace.

Have you checked the Roxio site to see if your version can use your brand of CDRW/CDR (Yamaha)

Not a resolution to your problem but a temporary fix, had this problem as well, as ROXIO and they told be to use NERO EXPRESS! anyway downloaded a version and this worked
