Error Loading File - Loading form or data enviroment - record number 5 .dbc internal consistency error.

This is the first time I've run up to this error.. and can't seem to figure out what's causing it.

it happends on a 'Do FORM' command in VFP 3.0

anyone see this before? and perhaps tell me out to fix it?

Most likely you have a corrupt dbc.
Make a backup copy of the DBC
Open the dbc exclusivly
run validate database recover

If this does not fix the problem report back to the forum what messages if any were reported by the validate command.

BTW, Why are you still using VFP 3.0 as of sometime in July you will be 3 major versions and who knows how many minor versions behind. VFP 3 was never very stable.

I get an Error:

Object #6 (Table 'Foobar'):

The Fields in Table foobar.dbf did not match the entried in teh database. Would you like to delete this object or cancle the valifdation?

I assume 'Delete?'

as for Version 3.0.. tell that to my company that dumbed me into FoxPro.. LOL =)

If you delete the table you are going to lose the data that is in the table.

Usually this problem is caused by copying a table from one directory to another that already contained a table with the same name but a different structure.

If you can verify that this is the case see if copying the other dbc solves the problem. (MAKE BACKUPS FIRST). If not you may have to delete the table and then reconstruct it from whatever documentation you have.

What were you using before VFP?

Of course, you should make a backup of the table just in case. But I believe selecting Delete will simply remove the table from the database. Then you should be able to safely add it back in afterward.
