I have a "reminder" .txt file that opens when I boot up my computer. It worked fine for months, but this week when I close it, after reading, I get the message:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object." OK?

That explanation is "over my head". Can someone say what it means in English?

I can't help you with what it means, but have you tried deleting and recreating this .txt file in your start location? Any explanation may be linked with programming code rather than an easily understood English explanation.

Here are some Google links.

FIX: You may receive the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message in the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
