Hi

I have an Option 11 which is up and running, phones are working fine. but I want to connect to the unit via ethernet? How do I do that and what bits might I need?

Unit is 4 years old.

First a router between the Elan and the rest of the network. Stops broadcast storms. PTY ports programmed on the PBX. PuTTY on your PC...It is free on the web. Maybe an AUI transciever if you don't already have one.

Well for starters you need a port on the Option 11, theres a large connection/ ambillical next to the AUX/ SDi which you then connect to a AUI/ MAU converter. Then give the PBX its IP info via Ld 117.

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

I have a DATA-LINK DL150 by Asentria. Connect the box as a normal modem to the PBX, then connect the box to your network and assign it the IP. Then you can get into it anytime you are on your netwwork. I can VPN from home and telnet to the box and it is much faster than dialing in.
