thank you very much all is helpfull. I'm not sure that mysql would be able to handle that many records with the speed im looking for, but other than that i am a big fan of mysql. I'm working on a project right now, and it's kind of a sisuation where were oftered out side assitance but the company wants me to find out if we can create something in house for less. We already have to spend $25,000 as it stands but im not sure what the limit would be. I would image another $25000 would probley be the limit but dont know at this point. The cheaper i could go the better i would look. but the performace has to be there.
Any thing else any body can add?
