What causes program to hang? No Reponse 1

I am trying to us the program WinAVI. WinAVI load fine. When I choose a selection it fine. After choosing the selection, it as to choose a file. I select a file. Program Hangs and Hands. It has no response even after 20 minutes.

Occassionally, I have the same problem with few other programs. Nothing specific. Something cause programs to hang. It always the same program.

I using Win XP Sp2.

With computers in all thoses 1's and 0's, a program will hang or crash becuase it tries to divide a number by 0 This is impossible for a anyone and a computer.

There is a bug in XP in handling AVI files, where the file is corrupt or broken, causing explorer to read the whole file looking for index or property details.

It has been suggested to correct this misbehavior in Windows XP, remove the following
registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\InProcServer32

This will prevent Explorer from loading shmedia.dll in response to
file property queries on these files.

Removie that regedit helped the problem.
