What are these cd-rom settings?

To me, I unchecked the DISCONNECT, checked the Sync Data Transfer, and unchecked the Auto Insert. Sync Data Transfer somehow add a little speed; Auto Insert automatically detects your CD once it is inserted in the drive, but this also is a strain to your resources.
