I'm attemting to install pictures on my 9641G. After reading the documentation, it seems very basic. I have JPEG pics on a usb stick. I plugged into the top of the phone. Press Home, Pictures, and I get the text stating "To view pictures on your telephone screen , Insert a usb..... My system is a V1 running 8.1.

You need to enable it from the 46xxsettings.txt file.
But i forgot the command.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

USB function does not work when used with IP Office :)

############### AVAYA SCREEN SAVER SETTINGS ###################
##
## Idle time before the Avaya Screen Saver is activated (minutes).
## Number of minutes without phone activity to wait
## before the screen saver is activated. A value of 0 means
## the screen saver is never activated. The default is 240 minutes.
## This parameter does not apply to 16cc SIP phones.
##
## Note:
## This setting activates the Avaya Screen Saver which is
## different than the "idle screen" accessed by WMLIDLEURI.
## While it is possible to use WMLIDLEURI as an "idle
## screen", it is recommended that the SCREENSAVERON
## timer and the Avaya Screen Saver display be used for
## screen saver purposes.
##
## SET SCREENSAVERON 240
##
## The automatic default for Release 6 - applicable to 9600 phones
## This can be modified to add your companies own screen saver
##

The last sentance claims you can modify. How? Is there a document that expalins this?

You can, what I do is replace the 96xxiposs.jpeg (or whatever it's called) with the picture I want to use and then set the time to come on and delete the ## in front of the "## SET SCREENSAVERON 240" line of text :)

I made the change just as you described, but now I can't save the changes.

Press Mute CRAFT # then clear the settings, and re login the extn.

Thanks everyone, Below is what I changed. The phone has accepted the screen save timer setting I adjusted, but still no picture. The JRW069.JPEG is the name of the picture on the usb stick.

It doesn't take it off the USB stick, it needs to be in the primary folder on the SD card in the IPO :)

IP Office is V1 so no SD. Phone file server is manager, and IP address are pointing to the PC's IP.

Put it in the Manager folder on the PC then and make sure the AV/firewall is off :)

I think I see where you going with this.I need to put the pick in the manager folder, I'll try when I return.

Thanks for the help that did it!

Wow all of that to put a simple picture on the screen saver of my phone.

Indeed, it's the kind of thing some customers love though :)
