Hello everybody!

I`m a beginning web developer and wanna know: is it possible to make the whole web desing by the means of those templates from Templatemonster or I will still have to use dreamweaver, photoshop, illustrator and so on...?

It looks to me like you can make your webpage using those templates. But in my opinion you would be better off making your own pages using some of the programs you mentioned.

Sure it's going to take a lot more work, but when you are finished you will be a lot prouder of what you have. You can also change the page around so that it fits exactly what you want, and not use some template which in the end is never going to be 100% how you want it to be. Plus you have the satisfaction that it's your design and no one can take that away from you.

As I read the FAQ and go through the entire site I see that the folks at templatemonster.com are basiacly taking away business from talents/qualified designers.
This is a shame... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

real talent/qualifications will always be required [soapbox] The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

I would hope so...but their templates have everything from the HTML layout to the graphics to the logos. All the "client" has to do is add their stuff and their done...

I agree with GUJUm0del that its taking work away from talented web designers, even though as Cheech says real talent and qualifications will always be required.

Plus the original post was from someone who said they are a beginner and so if they were to use the templates then they are not going to learn anything except how to add a few different images and some text to someone elses predefined template. Which if they did then they are always going to be a beginner as they will not have actually learnt how to design a webpage/site

Yes, Kindame, you still have to use Dreamweaver or something like it even with a template. That site, however gives you a Photoshop version and if you're not a graphic designer you won't be able to alter the graphics. I think templates are a good idea - I've seen some pretty horrible efforts though - you must use the template as the basis of your design and be able to alter it to fit your needs. I suggest you try webdesignhelper.co.uk as then you can get a bare-bones framework which you could probably use in almost any HTML editor. However, if you're a beginner, Dreamweaver lets you design websites without needing to learn any languages. Personally, I think templates are a good idea for beginners and terrible artists like me, however I admit if I need some really good graphics I find a graphic artist and pay him!

It's all such fun, isn't it?

fun? huh? whos having fun?

[yawn] sigh
