Hello,
I am trying to set my computer up so that when the computer resumes from my screensaver, the welcome screen appears.
Right now, when I turn on my computer, I get the welcome screen as desired, but when I choose "on resume, password protect" from the screensaver properties tab, I get the classic, old-school NT login popup window.
I have "use welcome screen" and "enable fast user switching" checked on the user account options. I also have used the "control userpasswords2" utility from the command line and made sure "require users to press ctrl + alt + delete" is unchecked (actually, it is greyed out). I also have checked "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" checked. My computer is standalone and connects directly to the Internet: I'm not connected to a domain.
I do, however, get the welcome screen when resuming from standby or hibernation.
One thing I have noticed is that I have disabled the default administrator account from the "local users and groups" tool. When enabled, I do get the welcome screen when resuming from a screensaver, but the administrator account appears on the welcome screen. So I guess my real question is, can I get the welcome screen when resuming from a screensaver without the default administrator account appearing on the welcome screen.
Thank you for your help.
