I use the welcome screen on xp pro.
I use Outlook for email.
I have MSN Messenger 6.0 installed.
Since the installation of msn 6, when i start the computer, it says I have one unread message. This is linked somehow to my hotmail account.
Is there any way to link the uread message option to Outlook, rather than hotmail-through-msn messenger??
Or indeed to disable the "helpful" notification altogether?
Thanks

MSeng, for the 'hotmail' account:
================================
If you just want to clear the notice and not disable it, there are email accounts under the UnreadMail key that correspond to your hotmail.com account and a key called "MessageCount" that you can set to zero.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\foo@hotmail.com]
"MessageCount"=dword:00000000
